I will get this going and try to get it out as fast as I can I know it will help you guys a lot.  When I get closer to finishing the work I will have a timeframe.  I don't really have a good timeline at this stage.  I will keep you updated.  The code update mainly affects the configuration Josh is on this ticket he will take care of that for you.  Have a good day

That is correct.  We have also updated the fire code from 2015 to 2018.  This changes the reference for several operational permits as well.

I am starting the development of this item, I am documenting all the functionality needs.  I want to make sure I have it correct before I start writing it up.  Below are the requirements I feel are needed in this case:
  • Permit fee calculation takes into account lookup values from either the occupancy or the inspection (in your case zone from occupancy)
  • The permit type will be the same
  • there can be a different fee, expiration, print criteria, etc. when the fee calculator matches the permit type and the lookup value
  • other criteria not used in this case could be permit SQFT, permit Occupant load, where there may be a "per" calculation ($.50 per sqft or occupant)
  • The fees could change from year to year
  • This includes both Annual operational and single-issue permits (building, events, fireworks, open burn)
Does this cover what is needed for Snohomish Regional Fire?

One last question related to the permit itself, this is not in the scope of this work it is for future design.  As I understand this each department has a little different fee and that is why this work in the fee calculation is needed.  My question is would there be a need to have the permit itself look different for different departments and even different permit types?

With 51 permits the concern is having to scroll though 150+ to find the right one, We did a SIMMILAR item with heartland, but they where able to use FDID, in this case this dept. already has FDID in use and has stated the data in fdid is not useable to determine what fee schedule would be used.

They did decide to use the Zone, field for this and have populated it with the correct data.

Will update the dept.

Joshua Gordon,
Technical Support Manager.

I am not sure this is going to be as straightforward to add to permits it is going to affect all clients that use permits.  In the past, we had a department that needed different fees for different cities or different departments and we had them create different permits per city that had different fees or requirements.  Why are we not setting this department up in this manner?  I am still going to continue to work on it, but it is not going to be a quick update.  The best case is released with the 6.0 release.

Needs the logic added for Zone.

Joshua Gordon,
Technical Support Manager.

Cities are not a lookup, this can't be done.  Cities are in the lookup_main table, but the system does not use it.  This would require adding a whole new set of logic to the fee calculator.

Rebuilding the fee schedule did not resolve the underlying issue of zone not working currently.

Tested with FDID working as expected.
Need Kevin to review setup for

Fee schedule: Inspections
The monroe tier is what i was testing

Joshua Gordon,
Technical Support Manager.

Dept ID: WA31D08

I cannot delete any fee schedule tiers,

Joshua Gordon,
Technical Support Manager.

This now appears to be working in 5.21.13 for sl-11000

Joshua Gordon,
Technical Support Manager.

This is now not working in pro. will go back to sl-11000 to see if i can tell why. (note this was working on 8/6/21

Joshua Gordon,
Technical Support Manager.

Updated the fee schedules to use the new lookup zone,

Running some tests (this dept. is set to hold all) to make sure everything is 100%

Joshua Gordon,
Technical Support Manager.

Josh the changes have been made to the data. Please reach out to the customer.

Spoke with Mike, They are ok using the Zone lookup for this since using city will require development.

Joshua Gordon,
Technical Support Manager.

After Review from Kevin this is a larger project as City is not stored as a lookup but a String value.

Joshua Gordon,
Technical Support Manager.

Hi Mike,

Per your request I have set the system to hold all billables.

Thank you,

Joshua Gordon,
Technical Support Manager.

Thanks…can you set that all billables are placed on hold then.

Request to add City as a lookup option to their fee schedule.

Having Kevin review,

Joshua Gordon,
Technical Support Manager.

Hi Mike,

I see the request, I think they hit a issue and did not circle back to it. I have requested they review and let me know.

Soon as i do ill update you.

Thank you,

Joshua Gordon,
Technical Support Manager.

Ahh Thanks for the refresher,

Let me check on that request.

Joshua Gordon,
Technical Support Manager.

Yes,

When we last spoke, the permit fees were ties to FDID.  You put in a request to add cities to this list.  Our permit fees change between the cities.  Right now, all my Lake Stevens inspections go “on hold” and permit fees are manually enter at $75.  All my Monroe inspections “export” before I can add the manual $100 permit fee.  Mill Creek there are no fees so no issue.
